ESG – from vision to impact

Real estate industry comes together to celebrate ESG and fundraise for Centrepoint

Fuelled by the need to tackle global issues surrounding climate change, social cohesion and wellness, the industry is looking to ramp up its ESG efforts. Although the adoption of ESG is rapidly gaining traction, there’s still more that needs to happen before its potential is fully realised.

To help drive ESG in real estate, last month Impact Capital Group hosted a special event dedicated to this transformative movement (read more about ESG here).

Our Impact Vision Dinner, held in the historic Cliveden House and co-organised by the talented Denise Horne of Opulent Luxury Events, brought together industry leaders to share our IMPACT vision, encourage ESG in real estate, and raise money for Centrepoint.

The event, hosted by Rory Bremner, a hugely talented Scottish impressionist and comedian, saw our Founder and Chairman - Robert Whitton, deliver a passionate speech.

In his powerful oration, he addressed the importance of ESG and how it can help reshape the industry by propelling socially and environmentally conscious business practices.

“We’re here to collaborate, to work together, to make a positive impact on the world, to make a difference, to try and solve the great emergencies of our time - the environment, social-cohesion, wellness, and housing. We’re here to make a real impact.” – Robert Whitton

This was followed by a moving speech by Julie Milnes – Centrepoint’s Director of Fundraising, and its ambassador Lisa Maxwell, a gifted English actress and television presenter, who stressed the reality of homelessness, the current cost of living crisis and the growing number of young homeless people we are seeing as a result.

As the evening drew to a close, we hosted an exclusive and truly unusual auction to raise awareness and money for our noble charitable partner, Centrepoint. To make a lasting positive impact on the lives of young homeless people, and help them reintegrate into society, we chose to auction off ‘support packs’ such as:

‘Good Night’s Sleep Pack’, ‘Wellbeing Pack’,‘Smart-Worker Pack’ and ‘Make a House a Home Pack’.

Centrepoint is one of the UK’s leading youth homeless charities supported by its patron Prince William, The Prince of Wales, since 2005.

Based in London and founded in 1969, Centrepoint UK has been changing the lives of thousands of young vulnerable people across the country for over 50 years now.

By providing accommodation, health support and life skills, the charity aims to give those affected by the housing crisis a better future, a future they can believe in.

With an incredible 88% of young people moving on from the charity positively, Centrepoint continues to make a true impact on the community.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful guests, the auction saw us raise over £20,000 for Centrepoint, making our event that much more special and proving just how powerful collective actions can be.

We believe that building and implementing ESG strategies should be a top priority for every enterprise, that’s why our entire brand strives to address the great emergencies of our time.

From day-to-day business activities to corporate events and team building days, we want to make a positive social and environmental impact on the world around us through everything that we do.
